I joined BESIGN just after high school and followed the five-year curriculum, which allowed me to fully train for the profession of sustainable innovation designer.
Our training emphasizes product design while integrating graphic design, service design, space and UI/UX. We are trained in the entire design process: from analyzing user needs to taking technical constraints into account, including studying the existing market.
This versatility gives us a global understanding of design, while the specialization in sustainable innovation, increasingly sought after, enables us to bring a fresh perspective and real added value to every project.

A Bachelor to think and create futures
The Bachelor in Sustainable Innovation Design gives you the keys to positively transform our uses. During your training, you explore different facets of design: product, space, mobility, fashion, graphic design, services and systems. You learn to understand user needs, rethink the ways we live and consume, and create meaningful projects.
Giving meaning to your creativity also means reflecting on the impact of your choices: on people, society and the environment. Through concrete projects, you develop a global vision of design and imagine new models to build a more sustainable future.

3 years to discover, experiment and design
through design
BACHELOR 1
The first year immerses students in the world of design, combining essential culture, skills and tools. They discover design methodologies through sketching, graphic composition, computer-aided design (Adobe Suite, Rhino & Keyshot), as well as model making and prototyping. A first approach to sustainability principles, design history and culture completes this immersion.
In practical workshops supervised by professional designers, students put this knowledge into action to bring their ideas to life. Projects develop progressively, applying new skills and experimenting with design processes in a creative and structured way.
BACHELOR 2
In the second year, projects gain technical maturity through advanced 3D rendering, exploration of AI tools and product life-cycle analysis. This is also the time to personalize the pathway by choosing an elective among sustainable space design, textile design and circular fashion, or product design. Students confront their ideas with field realities through partnership projects, the inter-school hackathon and a concrete immersion during the study trip.
BACHELOR 3
The third year is dedicated to affirming their identity as designers through two major individual projects, one per semester, within our design studios. These projects are enriched by an introduction to user sociology and social impact, training designers capable of conceiving relevant and responsible solutions. At this stage, students develop a complete sustainable design project, from immersion and research to ideation, development, prototyping and the production of the final model, presented to an internal jury.
This year is also an opportunity to complete an international exchange semester at one of our 23 partner universities, offering a unique experience open to design on a global scale.
Electives
3 electives to explore new paths
From the second year of the Bachelor's program, students have the opportunity to open up their educational pathway and design practice through one of the 3 course modules offered by BESIGN School.
Sustainable Textile Design
The Sustainable Textile Design course explores the transformation of the fashion industry by examining its structure, key players, trends, fabric use, zero-waste design and upcycling.
This course emphasizes practical learning through case studies and concrete activities. From the very first session, practice begins: bring two used garments, fabrics and accessories to imagine your first sustainable prototypes and present them on the runway during a fashion show.
Sustainable Space Design
The Sustainable Space Design course reinvents the way we inhabit the world by sculpting volumes, geometry and the relationship between solid and void.
At the heart of the workshop, you explore innovative construction methods, the choice of bio-based materials and elevation techniques to minimize each place's carbon footprint. Through concrete projects, learn to master the universal codes of architectural drawing and place people at the center of eco-responsible, living and inspiring spaces.
Sustainable Product Design
The Sustainable Product Design course immerses you in the creation of everyday objects designed to stand the test of time and respect our planet.
Forge your own creative signature while taking on contemporary climate challenges. From sketch to prototype, you experiment with circular materials, study the full product life cycle and confront your ideas with technical reality to design desirable, ingenious and truly responsible objects.

By touching on all fields, the program teaches students to imagine useful projects that are resource-efficient and beneficial to society. The objective is to find the right balance between user needs and respect for the planet.
With this practical and complete foundation, graduates are ready to start as Assistant Designers in Sustainable Innovation or to continue their studies in a Master's in Sustainable Innovation Design.

Culture, Humanities & Sustainability
- Sustainability Principles (1 to 4) : Integrate the core concepts of sustainable development, circular economy and ecological transition at every stage of creation.
- History and culture of sustainable design : Acquire a strong general and critical culture of design evolutions and narratives in response to planetary challenges.
- User Research & Creative Thinking : Conduct field research focused on uses and stimulate creative thinking to generate social and environmental impact.
- Languages (English/French) : Develop written and oral communication skills suited to international contexts.
Design Tools & Skills
- Drawing & Visualisation (Levels 1 to 3) : Master design drawing, quick sketching and idea visualization.
- Prototyping & Model Making : Translate virtual concepts into three-dimensional physical models in the workshop.
- Digital tools (2D/3D) : Master essential market software (Adobe Suite, Rhino modeling, digital visualization and Artificial Intelligence tools).
- Systemic Mapping & Portfolio : Design a living-centered systemic map and structure your professional identity through your portfolio.
